Here is something I had trouble with initially.

well here are some must have add ons i personally use.


ScribeFire :

This is an amazing add on for bloggers,
you can update your blog directly online. By opening a small window under firefox
Whole lot of options to play with.

IE Lite :

some Microsoft pages you would require IE to view them and its such a pain to switch between browsers i.e Firefox and Internet Explorer just for one damn website ....

Well for all Elite who prefer using Firefox over Internet explorer
what you need is an add on for Firefox

This is a cut down version of IE View by Paul Roub, which is 47.4 KB. All the same UI and features are there. It has a right click menu item to open a page in IE and a list of sites to always open in IE. It can close tabs automatically and send additional parameters to the executable. Hide Desktop from Boss

Cant use Messengers in office, or boss keeping peeping into your desktop.
Well here is one fix i figured out to use in office.


A lil application called DoubleDesktop..

a Must have application at work
practically creates a virtual hidden desktop.

How to use
once installed you find a tiny red arrow on the taskbar.
click on to move to the right desktop
or you can even assign shortcut keys to it.

right click on the red arrow.
click on options.
Enable Hotkeys.

Note : I use CTRL + Right Arrow . Work like a charm

Play Games in Small Screen

Wanna Play Games in Small Screen to avoid being caught in office or school...
Here some tricks you can try out..

Most of the games can be played in windowed mode. however some Microsoft games are not designed that way.
Try this........................

Place a shortcut of the game on your desktop.

Then...
Right Click on the shortcut and click on properties.
Now you will be on the shortcut tab.
Which will probably look like





















Now in the Target after the Location of the Game just ADD
-w after the apostrophe with a space in between
for Eg.
"C:\game\Game1.exe" -w
and that should start the game in windowed mode.

Thats one way of starting the game in windowed mode

or you can also try using Alt + Enter combination works on some games.

But the best tool i found so far was the D3dwindower.

Now this is an Japanese program . you wont understand any of the Options
However i will show how i managed to play Age of mythology on the internet.

First of all you will need the program.
download link : D3D Windower
 its in rar format you will require something like winrar.

extract all the files in one folder and run this particular program.
D3DWindower-English.exe
you will get a windows which looks something like this















and now comes the hard part


Click on the Plus sign and add the particular game you wanna play in windowed mode.


Once you have the program listed in .
try to start it by click on the Computer icon
*** third icon from the Right ***

If the game doesn't start
close application and try again ..
it should work.

and yeah for age of mythology you will have to go to options page
***second option from the right***
( the folder icon with tools on it )

its should look something like this.














Make sure all the option are checked in that window only for " WINDOW MODE " Tab. as illustrated above

and to start the game click on the name of the game on the list and then click on the computer icon ( third from the right )
and it should start the game in windowed mode.

you might feel a lil bet of missed accuracy with the mouse.
currently trying to find a fix for it .

Virus Alert : NEW FOLDER.EXE

Recently My comp got infected Virus through an infected pendrive.
The pendrive had these file on it

New Folder.exe
MS32DLL.dll.vbs
Autorun.Inf

Now Norton called a Virus a W32.Svich ( personally i prefer to call it a real pain in the butt :) )

Well Now comes the part for fixing the problem.

well couple of things can actually resolve this issue.
now when i left clicked on the drive and choose scan for virus... Norton did not detect it however when the virus started acting up on my comp that when it managed to detect it.
So Yes, Norton does detect this Virus

Now a not a lot of you actually use norton.
so here is another fix for this problem. ( for people who don't use norton )

if you have internet access you can actually do an online scan from http://www.ewido.net/en/onlinescan/

which also detects the virus

or download avg from the same site or click on http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Please make sure you download the Virus definitions if you are downloading the spyware program.

well Finally if you still cant get rid of the Virus there is alway Format... LOL
